Hello everyone, We work hard to ensure the kindy environment reflects the interests and strengths of our children. The children’s favourite experiences outdoors are riding bikes and driving cars, climbing and running games, searching for small creatures, growing plants and playing in the sandpit. Indoors the children love exploring roles in home area, painting, puzzles and building with a range of materials.
Recent craft activities have highlighted the children’s eagerness to make and create. They have been very happy with their caterpillars and Easter baskets.
During April and May there will be greater emphasis placed on drawing and name writing/recognition. Each child now has an individual drawing book where they are encouraged to draw with intention and, if possible,
describe something about their drawings which can be written. The style of writing taught in Queensland primary schools is called ‘Queensland cursive’. If you are teaching your child to write their name ALWAYS use one capital letter and the rest in lower case eg Robert.

help when needed. We have introduced a “Job Chart” and 2 children will be selected each day and given more responsibilities such as setting up the tables for meals and leading the children outside to play.

the children as much as possible by extending on their family experiences.So far we have 2 family photos. Please send in yours to help create a sense of belonging. Your child loves to share stories about their family with their friends.
