What a lovely start to the year we have had in the Waratah room for 2022. The children all had a positive transition from the nursery, and I was lucky enough to make that transition with them and get to spend another year supporting their needs, interests and development.
We have several children on their toilet training journey at the moment and this will be different for each child. We will ensure we establish open-communication with their families so as they have a consistent approach in supporting the development of their toileting skills. And please ensure they have several spare pairs of underwear and pants in case of any accidents.
Kung hei fat choi!! Happy Lunar New Year!! The children will be exposed to a variety of play-based activities to celebrate the new year and embrace the culture and traditions that surround this event. We will also be having a Chinese themed menu on 8th of February .
Waitangi Day is just around the corner too and we will celebrate with some traditional New Zealand dishes on 7th of February.
Our celebrations of diversity continue with Harmony week which runs from March 14-22. Due to COVID restrictions, more details on how we celebrate will be released closer to the day.
Last but not least, I would like to welcome Gabby and Eva back to the room. They will be job sharing the position of Assistant Educator.
If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to see myself or Tanya. Until next time
Hayley, Gabby and Eva x
