Welcome to the Waterlillies room for 2022. We would like to welcome back our families from last year and give a warm welcome to our new friends joining us in the New year. Katherine and I are looking forward to building positive relationships with you and your child. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask us.
We have had a busy month getting to know all of our new friends and building positive relationships with them. We are amazed at the adaptability of your little people and how well they have settled in already.
Over time this sense of belonging will help ease any separation anxiety and promote confidence to learn and experience new things, to promote development. If you have any suggestions or ideas to help make your child’s transition into the centre easier we would love to hear from you, or just sharing their ever changing interests with us.
As the children feel more comfortable in their new environment they become more able to confidently explore and engage with their social and physical surroundings through relationships and play.
Another way we help them feel a sense of belonging is by having photos around the room. We would love it if you could please email a family photo to the centre that we could use in our family corner. We encourage family input in the centre and would love to see some weekend sheets for us to extend on with your child. We would also love any input into our program about special cultural celebrations or special talents a family member may have.
REMINDER
Spare clothes:: Please ensure your child has a few sets of spare clothes each day. We do lots of sensory play which can get a bit messy!
Name belongings: Please name everything that belongs to your child & check and collect all your child’s belongings especially drink bottles & cups at the end of the day.
Nappies: Please ensure your child has an adequate supply of nappies each day.
Sunscreen & Insect Repellent: Please apply sunscreen and insect repellent on your child before coming to kindy or on arrival in the morning and we will reapply it each afternoon.
Hats: We are a sun smart centre and all children are required to wear a hat when playing outside. Please ensure your child has their hat every day.
Please remember to check your child’s pocket, located next to the door, daily as we use this for important information and messages. That’s all for now, if you have any concerns don’t hesitate to see Tanya or myself.
Thanks
Anne and Katherine
