Education and Care
Hi, my name is Teri. I was born and raised in Seattle, Washington, USA. In 2014, our family of six were looking for a change and warmer weather. My husband grew up on the Gold Coast, so we decided to take the plunge and move to this beautiful part of the world. I received my Bachelors in Special Education from the USA and after moving, my Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care here in Australia.
I have spent most of my working career in early childhood education. I have four adult children, so I know the importance of quality childcare, where you feel safe dropping your children off in a loving caring environment. I am very excited to have started my employment at GCIT and look forward to getting to know all of your children as a float.

Our Kitchen

Vanessa
Chef
I’m Vanessa the Chef. I graduated from Marketing in 2009 and then graduated in art Culinary in Ireland in 2012 which I did for my passion for cooking, seeing it as a hobby back then. While still working in marketing, I opened a food truck and I moved around Europe for few years, I got the opportunity to trade in a lot of different festivals and food markets and I really miss it.
I have worked in many different kitchen styles, which helped me to find my way in this challenging career. I moved permanently to Australia in 2019, worked as a Chef in Sydney first, then few different gastronomy styles in Gold Coast and now I’m really happy at GCIT Children’s Centre where I get to cook quality food for the children based upon the dietary requirements, they need to grow strong and healthy.
