Hayley

Lead Educator

Diploma in Children’s Services

My passion caring for children started at a young age so there was no questioning what career path I was going to take.  I have been a part of the GCITCC team for almost 20 years, so it really is my home away from home and that is the environment that I strive to create for all the families that attend the centre.  I have had several years’ experience working with all of the age groups of children and I would find it hard to choose a favourite as they are all so rewarding in different ways.  At the moment I am the Lead Educator in the Nursery.  Caring for the babies warms my heart as we are able to form such close bonds with them.  This allows them to feel safe and secure and become their own unique being.  It is a big responsibility and honour to be entrusted with the care of your children. Being a mother myself I truly understand how important it is to know that your child is provided with a safe and loving environment that nurtures growth and development.

Early Childhood Education and Care

My name is Katherine and I work alongside Hayley in the nursery room.  I love working at GCIT Children’s Centre, we have a great team who put the children’s wellbeing first.  I am a mother of four children, so I understand the importance of knowing your child is happy, healthy and thriving.  We have formed lovely bonds with our group of children and I just love seeing how happy and settled everyone is.  The best part about my role is all the lovely cuddles I get and seeing all the children reach their developmental goals.

Early Childhood Education and Care

Hello, I’m Anne and I began my career in early education and care in 2014 right here at GCIT Children’s Centre. After taking 2 years off to travel and work in Canada I have returned as the lead educator in the Waratah 2-3 years room, this holds a special place in my heart as it is the same room I gained my start in. Prior to my time away I worked as the lead educator in the nursery room. I appreciate the rewards and challenges that each age and stage early childcare offers, however the first three years are definitely my favourite as I feel that the most diverse developments, and learning a person will experience are in these years.

I am a big believer in forming strong, secure bonds with children as I know it can be a very scary prospect for a child and parent to spend time away from each other. I pride myself in creating an environment where the children feel at home to discover themselves, their interests and begin to understand the world around them.  On the same token I think it is just as valuable to have a clear understanding of each family, their beliefs and expectations as that is what makes us all who we are in our own special way.

GCITCC makes me proud to be a part of the community we have created here, from my fun loving co-workers, to the families that have been coming here for years and treat us as one of their own.

Gabby

Certificate III in Children’s Services

My name is Gabby and I work in the Waratah Room with Anne.  I am a mother of two children whom I adore.  I am currently studying my Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care.  I have been working at GCIT Children’s Centre for almost two years and I absolutely love it.

One of the many reasons I love what I do is because I get to watch the children grow and develop into their personalities.  I also enjoy supporting those relationships with the families, by sharing what the children get up to during the day.  I have always had a passion to work with children and am so lucky that I get to do it here.  GCIT has warmth and homely feel that makes everyone feel welcome.

Izumi

Cook

I have been working at GCITCC for 5 years and have found it to be an incredible experience. Being able to see the children enjoy the food I prepare for them and to see the joy they have is one of the main reasons for why I love being a part of this team. The environment of the GCITCC I believe, has been one of the most positive and cheerful workplaces I have been employed in. I look forward to bringing smiles to the children’s faces every day and to provide an energetic environment.
