Our Experienced Educators

Waterlillies Room

Lead Educator

Diploma in Children’s Services

My passion caring for children started at quite a young age so there was no questioning what career path I was going to take. I have been a part of the GCITCC team for 20 years, so it really is my home away from home and that is the environment that I strive to create for all the families that attend the centre. I have had several years’ experience working with all the age groups of children and they are all so rewarding in different ways.

I am the Lead Educator in the Waterllies Room. It is a big responsibility and honour to be entrusted with the care of your children. Being a mother myself I truly understand how important it is to know that your child is provided with a safe and loving environment that nurtures growth and development. I hold a Diploma of Children’s Services.

Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care

Hi, my name is Teri.  I was born and raised in Seattle, Washington, USA. In 2014, our family of six were looking for a change and warmer weather. My husband grew up on the Gold Coast, so we decided to take the plunge and move to this beautiful part of the world. I received my Bachelors in Special Education from the USA and after moving, my Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care here in Australia.

I have spent most of my working career in early childhood education. I have four adult children, so I know the importance of quality childcare, where you feel safe dropping your children off in a loving caring environment. I am very excited to have started my employment at GCIT and look forward to getting to know all of your children as a float.

As a Mum, I understand all too well just how important high quality education and care for your special little person is to you.

As a reflective educator, I have a passionate desire to create an environment that will help nurture and foster children’s natural ability to investigate, explore and understand the world around them. The children in my care will be learning and developing in a loving, safe, and nurturing environment where I would meet the unique needs of each child. I have a passion for children. They are our future generation; their education is so important.

My name is Gabby and I work in the Waterlillies Room with Katherine.  I am a mother of two children whom I adore.  I have recently completed my Diploma in Early Education and Care.  I have been working at GCIT Children’s Centre for almost two years and I absolutely love it.

One of the many reasons I love what I do is because I get to watch the children grow and develop into their personalities.  I also enjoy supporting those relationships with the families, by sharing what the children get up to during the day.  I have always had a passion to work with children and am so lucky that I get to do it here.  GCIT has warmth and homely feel that makes everyone feel welcome

In my spare time I enjoy playing sports, singing, taking my dog on walks and hanging out with friend and family.

Relief Educators

I’m Vanessa the Chef. I graduated from Marketing in 2009 and then graduated in art Culinary in Ireland in 2012 which I did for my passion for cooking, seeing it as a hobby back then. While still working in marketing, I opened a food truck and I moved around Europe for few years, I got the opportunity to trade in a lot of different festivals and food markets and I really miss it.

I have worked in many different kitchen styles, which helped me to find my way in this challenging career. I moved permanently to Australia in 2019, worked as a Chef in Sydney first, then few different gastronomy styles in Gold Coast and now I’m really happy at GCIT centre where get to cook quality food for the children, their dietary requirements have.
