Waterlillies Room

6 weeks to 2 years old

At GCIT Children’s Centre we greatly appreciate the trust you place in us to provide your child/children with highest quality care and attention.

Our Waterlillies room starts from 6 weeks of age up until two years of age and provides a warm, safe environment for your child to learn and grow. Caring, gentle and long standing educators will develop nurturing relationships with your baby, so your child will develop trust and a sense of belonging within centre.

We understand that it can be such a big decision to leave your baby, our main focus is creating safe and secure bonds with your baby which then ensures that you feel confident in your choice. We have created a warm, calming and homey environment which encourages reciprocal relationships.

You can have full confidence in knowing that qualified educators will be caring for your child and involving them in curriculum that is solely based on their needs. Our curriculum supports your child’s growth and development by offering a range of different activities to engage your child in essential sensory exploration to enhance their cognitive, fine and gross motor skills. Your child will have the opportunity to play with a variety of different age appropriate activities, feel different textures, create arts and crafts, as well as one on one time, small group experiences, shared story times, listening to music, outdoor play and so much more.

All learning activities are carefully designed to be age-appropriate and safe. As such, our nursery is a place where you child can freely learn about the world in a cosy and safe environment.

Our Experienced Educators

Hayley

Lead Educator

Diploma in Children’s Services

My passion caring for children started at quite a young age so there was no questioning what career path I was going to take. I have been a part of the GCITCC team for 20 years, so it really is my home away from home and that is the environment that I strive to create for all the families that attend the centre. I have had several years’ experience working with all the age groups of children and they are all so rewarding in different ways.

I am the Lead Educator in the Waterllies Room. It is a big responsibility and honour to be entrusted with the care of your children. Being a mother myself I truly understand how important it is to know that your child is provided with a safe and loving environment that nurtures growth and development. I hold a Diploma of Children’s Services.

Teri

Educator

Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care

Hi, my name is Teri.  I was born and raised in Seattle, Washington, USA. In 2014, our family of six were looking for a change and warmer weather. My husband grew up on the Gold Coast, so we decided to take the plunge and move to this beautiful part of the world. I received my Bachelors in Special Education from the USA and after moving, my Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care here in Australia.

I have spent most of my working career in early childhood education. I have four adult children, so I know the importance of quality childcare, where you feel safe dropping your children off in a loving caring environment. I am very excited to have started my employment at GCIT and look forward to getting to know all of your children as a float.
