June/July 2021

From the Director

Hello everyone,
The year is certainly going very fast.
The centre is in the middle of updating our website and also introducing an app that will be built around the needs of the centre.
Part of this process has seen at look at rebranding our logo to keep up with the times. Over the next few months you will slowly see it being added to our documents and other areas around the centre. Here is a sneak peek of it.
I would like to remind all families on the importance of good hand washing for the prevention of diseases and infections. This must be done when arriving at the centre, before handling food including babies bottles, before eating, after going to the toilet, after wiping noses, after playing outside, after handling garbage, before giving medication and before leaving the centre of an afternoon.
Steps to follow for good hand washing include:
. Use liquid soap and running water
. Wash your hands thoroughly (front and backs) while counting from 1 to 10
. Rinse your hands while slowly counting from 1 to 10
. Dry your hands thoroughly.
Please use the handsantiser located in reception upon entry to the centre.
Please remember that if your child is unwell that you must keep them at home.
Important information about CCS
If you received Child care Subsidy (CCS) for 2019– 20 you must confirm your income with Centrelink. This includes CCS paid directly to you and CCS paid on your behalf to the Centre.
If you have not confirmed your income you need to do it now.
If you do not confirm your 2019-20 income by 30th June 2021, your CCS will stop on 13th July 2021.
In other good news for the centre we have been lucky to be awarded a Woolworths Junior Landcare Grant which will enable us to create a Bush Tucker garden for the Banksia Yard. This will be happening with the children involved in this process.
Don’t forget to come and see me if you have any questions.
Until next month,

Dates to remember:

5th June World Environmental Day
22nd & 23rd June Centre Photos
22nd June Healthy Tuckshop Day
4th—11th July NAIDOC Week
23 July Pajama Day (Don’t forget to come dressed in your PJ’s for a day of fun.) Bring in a gold coin donation for the Pajama foundation who supports children in foster care.

Annual General Meeting Wednesday June date to be announced

I would like to encourage as many of you to come to our annual AGM which will be held on date to be announced. As we are a community non profit centre we are managed by a management committee who meet once a month.

This is a great way to become involved in the running of the centre and have an involvement in your child’s time while here at the centre. If anyone is interested in becoming involved and wish to run for any positions please come and see myself for a nomination form. All positions must be on nomination forms.
Babysitting will be available on the night. Please let Tanya know if you require babysitting.
I look forward in seeing as many of you there as we need the majority of parents to attend so as we have a quorum because without this we can not have the AGM.
