Hello everyone and thanks for a great start to 2022! Most of the children have settled in very well with just a few needing an extra cuddle or two when dropped off in the morning.

We are working hard to establish kind, respectful and trusting relationships with all the children.  We do this by having a consistent, predictable routine and by developing a curriculum based on your child’s interests and strengths.

You can help your child have a sense of belonging by:

* Encouraging your child to choose a locker each morning and add his/her name tag;

* Apply sunscreen and/or insect repellent each morning;

* Share any significant or interesting events that occur in your child’s life – special visitors, visits to the beach or parklands, new interests, holidays, etc – preferably with photos to build stronger connections between home and  kindy;

* Label all belongings including sheets and water bottles and provide spare clothes.

* Sending in a family photo to help us create a family tree; and

* Please leave home toys at home.

During the first week of February, we will be celebrating Chinese New Year with music, crafts, art, stories and dramatic play.

The week of the 14^th to the 25^th of March is taste of Harmony where we will celebrate diversity and culture.  We will be having a Traditional Clothing dress up day on Tuesday the 22^nd of March.

Monday the 21^st of March is International Nowruz Day which is Persian New Year.

Hygiene is extremely important in our centre. Please continue to sanitize your hands as you enter. The     children wash their hands  before and after meals, after messy play and toileting.

They also brush their teeth every day with individual brushes and toothpaste provided.
